Movies Wouldn't Be The Same Without The Green Screen Hollywood Method

By Phillip Guye

Fortunately, there have been a lot of technological progress that altered the cinema industry. Often there is a brand new and thrilling picture that sweeps audiences off of their feet. The eyes of today's generation are privileged enough to have viewed such incredible spectacles. This can be achievable by aid from the green screen Hollywood process. Therefore this approach involves blending a couple of photos so they seem to be in one frame. Without it, movies nowadays would continue to contain unrealistic puppets and poorly drawn backdrops. Below are a few movies which were made possible through the green screen or "chroma key" procedure.

Star Wars. One of the first contemporary motion pictures that used chroma key technology was George Lucas' "The Empire Strikes Back." Awesome battleship chases, interplanetary backgrounds, and fascinating settings wouldn't be possible without Chroma Key Technology. Think of the Millennium Falcon zooming on a fake-looking background. Imagine painted backgrounds in place of the splendid places the motion picture depicted throughout a galaxy far, far away. It absolutely doesn't seem very appealing, does it? Thankfully, Chroma key technology saved the day by generating the creation of Lucas' imaginary world possible.

Titanic. Titanic is a colossal tear-jerker of a movie. Who would not cry for poor Jack and Rose? Who can forget about the legendary "I'm the king of the world" scene? Who didn't hold their breath when the doomed vessel snapped in 1 / 2 after hitting the iceberg? This piece of film magic wouldn't be feasible without the green screen Hollywood technique. Without it, the love story would not be believable. Weak quality pictures and backdrops will definitely cause the Titanic to sink at the box office.

300. This film is a genuine graphic spectacle. 300 was shot entirely on green screen! Leonidas and the Spartans would not find themselves in a visually amazing atmosphere if it were not with the miracle of the Chroma Key Technique. The appearance and feel of the motion picture would not be the same with no chroma key technique. Without it, the idea of 300 troops beating an army of ghoulish individuals would certainly appear to be obvious stupidity rather than splendor.

Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Gollum is by far one of the eeriest CGI creations, and his look and feel in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy had been granted with the Chroma Key. The creature's realistic behavior had been filmed through chroma key technology. Additionally, the splendor of the Shire and other areas from the Lord of the Rings galaxy won't be filmed simply by producing life sized sets. That's where the green screen comes into play. It digitally produced backgrounds which were combined with the motion picture for just a more genuine feel. This made the film all the more valuable.
